Sunday Supper: Taco Soup

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday to you! Today's Sunday Supper recipe comes from my SU! Upline, Robin Bisig. I was getting ready to do my post this morning and decided to check my email first, and there was a recipe from Robin! Thanks, Robin -- it was a nice surprise! :)

This would be a great soup to make for game day, tailgating, or on a cool, autumn day! We may never have those around here -- we're expecting near-record highs in the 80's today! It is beautiful, though -- a cloudless blue sky and gorgous foliage everywhere!

Okay, on to the recipe!

Taco Soup
16 oz. chili beans
16 oz. kidney beans
16 oz. black beans
8 oz. tomato sauce
15 oz. diced tomatoes
16 oz. whole kernel corn
16 oz. creamed corn
1 package of taco seasoning
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 small can chopped green chilies

DO NOT DRAIN ANY OF THE CANNED FOODS. Brown the ground beef with the chopped onion. Combine all ingredients in a crock pot. Simmer 3-4 hours. Garnish with shredded Cheddar cheese, sour cream, tortilla strips, etc.

Sounds yummy!! My husband and son will LOVE this for sure! Thanks again, Robin!

Be sure to scroll down to see Friday's post if you haven't already -- there's a chance to win a $5 gift certificate from All That Scraps! I'll be choosing the winner Tuesday morning! Thanks to all of you for visiting today and every day -- I'm always so thankful when you stop by! Have a great Sunday, and spend some time around the dinner table! :)

Mmmmmm...that really sounds yummy! I'll have to try that...if it ever cools off here! (It should NOT be 80 in October!) :)

I make a version of this quite often in the fall and winter and my family LOVE it! I like the idea that it is so easy and I don't have to work hard to have a good meal ready. I have never put cream style corn in mine, but I think I will give it a chance. It is supposed to be getting cooler here next week. thanks for sharing your recipes and all the other ideas and goodies with us!
