Wintery RAKs

Happy Monday, everyone! It's cold and snowy here today, and we're expecting several more inches tonight and tomorrow. School delays and my tutoring made the morning a little crazy, so I don't have a project ready to share just yet. But, I do have a couple of RAKs to show you. I received both of them this month, and they definitely warmed my heart!

The first one is from Jackie Pedro of The Scalloped Edge. I have been stalking her blog and SCS gallery for quite a while. She is so talented, and I just *love* her style! She serves on several design teams, and is the newest Verve Diva! Thank you Jackie -- your card made my day!

This next card is from Julee Tilman of Poetic Artistry. I am such a BIG fan of her gorgeous work and her Verve Stamps, so I was tickled when her card arrived in the mail! Thank you so much, Julee!

Thanks for stopping by today -- I'll have some of my own work to share tomorrow! Have a fantastic day!

Stay warm!

Meet Layla!

Happy Saturday, everyone! We have a busy day today. We have two graduation parties to attend, then Chris and I are going with my parents to see Jersey Boys tonight -- I can't wait!

Here's a preview of one of the June releases from C.C. Designs -- Layla. You'll meet her friend Virginia tomorrow. The new stamps will be available June 4 at All That Scraps. Layla and Virginia will be sold individually and as a set. The set contains four sentiments -- two for everyday cards, and two for more "American" cards. I wanted to use this fun paper from Sassafras Lass, so I went for a fireworks theme on this one! I colored Layla with Copics and drew in the fireworks with SU! markers. I added a little sparkle with a Stardust pen. I used my rectangle Nestabilities on the image panel and scalloped mat. I forgot I had these SU! rhinestone brads -- they were perfect for the flower centers.

I have one more thing I want to share with you. Yesterday I received this RAK from my friend and Design Teammate Dawn Easton (TreasureOiler) -- isn't it gorgeous? Thanks so much, Dawn -- you made my day! :)

Be sure to stop by the ATS Blog to see more Design Team samples and find out how you can win Layla! Thanks for visiting today -- have a fantastic day! :)

Stamps: Layla (C.C. Designs) Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black (Tsukineko), Basic Black (SU!) Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Buckaroo Blue, Whisper White (SU!) Paper: Extravagant (Sassafras Lass) Tools: Nestabilities (Spellbinders), scalloped circle punch, circle punches (SU!) Accessories: Copic markers, SU! markers, Stardust pen, rhinestone brads, Prima flowers, white gel pen, dimensionals

An Inspired Valentine

Hi there!
I hope you're having a good day! We had snow and ice overnight, so all four of my kids were off school today. They have had friends in the house for most of the day (I counted nine children at one point), but right now they've all gone somewhere else to play and the house is quiet!! Aaaaahhhh.....

So, now I can show you the Valentine card I made today. I really like it! Since it's so monochromatic, I made sure I added interest by using a lot of texture and dimension. I used the SU! background stamp Tres Chic to stamp on the BasicGrey Two Scoops paper with White Craft ink. Then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder and punched out the hearts with a Marvy Mega Heart punch. I mounted the first heart directly to the Cuttlebugged panel (SU! Kraft), then I attached the second heart over it with dimensionals to separate them and add more dimension. I zig zag stitched around the Two Scoops cupid patterned paper, and I used the same paper to punch out a photo corner. I tied some SU! Kraft taffeta ribbon through a Two Scoops button, then I placed it over the photo corner. The sentiment is stamped in Ruby Red on Whisper White cardstock. I added brads to the ovals and mounted them on dimensionals. I sponged around the Kraft panel with White Craft ink, and I sponged around the small oval with Pretty in Pink.

Now, here is the inspiration for my Valentine card. I received this gorgeous Valentine from Pat Swift yesterday!! I just love the colors and the hearts! It was such a sweet surprise -- thank you SO much, Pat! :)

That's all for today -- I'll be back with more Valentine fun tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by today -- have a great day! :)

RAK from Speedystamper

Happy Sunday!

I wanted to take a minute to share this RAK I received this week -- I realized I hadn't posted it yet! It came from Kay Kalthoff, aka Speedystamper on SCS. She used some of my favorite colors and paper, and I love her layout. It was a wonderful surprise to receive such happy mail! Thanks, Kay! :)

Just a reminder -- the new C.C. Designs set Monkey Love and three new backgrounds are now available at All That Scraps!

That's it for now! I have a few more Valentine projects to share with you this week, so I hope you'll stop back! Have a wonderful day! :)

RAKs to Share

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was a busy one. Friday we celebrated my father-in-law's 75th birthday. All the grandkids came to our house while the adults went to a hibachi grill for dinner. Afterward, everyone came back to our house and stayed for a little "party." It was a fun night! Saturday night, I went to Mom Prom with Kyle. He goes to an all-boy high school, so each year the boys and their moms have a mother-son dance. It was a lot of fun, and Kyle was the perfect date! :)

Unfortunately, with all the activities this weekend, there wasn't much time for stamping. I do have some RAKs to share with you, though! I was lucky enough this week to receive TWO of them! The first is from Stephanie Severin (SmilynStef on SCS), and the second is from Mary Beth Phillips (pintail on SCS). Thank you both so much -- they were such nice surprises!! :)

I'll have some more projects to share with you tomorrow -- I hope you'll stop back! Have a fantastic day!

Some RAKs to Share

I received some happy mail this week -- three cards from SCS members! I'm part of the Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) group, which sends cards to other members of the group for special occasions, birthdays, or just because! It's so nice to get that card you weren't expecting, and it's fun to send a little sunshine!!

Here's a holiday RAK from Jackie (hpyscrpr2 on SCS). I love how she used the photo corners and round tab punches!

Here's a birthday RAK from Brenda (sassybee on SCS). I think this color combo is so perfect for this image!

And here's a birthday card from my friend Ann (Ann Wittmer on SCS). Ann is the friend who invited me to a Stampin' Up! workshop in 2001 and began my love affair with paper and ink! Thanks, Ann!! :) I love the layout and colors on this card -- it just makes me smile!

Take some time today to give someone you know a RAK -- send that card you've been meaning to send, or do something just because!! Don't forget to see Sunday's post for a chance to win my Birthday Giveaway! I'll be choosing the winner Friday morning! Have a great day!! :)
