CC Designs Spring Sugarplums Blog Hop!

Hi there! Welcome to the CC Designs Spring Sugarplums Blog Hop! There are so many images in the Spring Sugarplums release, so the DT is doing a Hop to show you all the fantastic ways you can use them! If you just happened upon my post, be sure to start at the beginning by going to Ria's Blog! You can also find a master list of all the participating DT members by going to the ATS Blog.

I chose this sweet Trevor image for my card. He reminds me of my son when he was little -- how I wish he'd bring me flowers now! I kept the design simple and boyish, with some distressing, twine, and a button. The paper is by October Afternoon.

I'm your last stop on the Blog Hop -- I hope you like all the samples you've seen! These adorable Sugarplums and all the new March stamps will be available tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10:00 pm at All That Scraps!

Have a great day, everyone -- thanks so much for hopping by! :)

Christmas Shopping Organizer

Hello! Happy Friday!! Today the ATS Design Team has another "Review Preview" of newly released stamps -- this time it's Sugarplums Christmas. I made a Christmas Shopping Organizer, and here's the step-by-step. Click on any photo for a better view!

Start with an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock. Score down the middle at 4 1/4", then turn and score again at 3". Turn the cardstock back upright and remove the bottom left panel.

Round the corners (if desired) and add Sticky Strip or other strong adhesive to the sides of the bottom right panel.

Apply designer paper to the inside, then fold up the pocket and adhere.

Now finish the inside! I printed out the Gift List and "Receipts" on the computer. The gifts are from the Sugarplums Christmas Scenery Set. I colored them with Copics and cut them out. I placed an eyelet on the front and back panels to hold the ribbon in place when opened.

Here's the front of the organizer. The tree is also from the Scenery Set, and the sentiment is from Boutique Sentiments by AmyR Stamps. I again colored with Copics, and I added Stickles to the tree ornaments. The brads serve two purposes: they embellish the front and also hold the gift list pages in place on the inside! It will be easy to remove the pages and insert new ones next year!

I hope this gives you some good ideas! Certainly you could do this with any stamps, but these images are perfect, don't you think?!? ;)

Go to my sidebar and see what my Design Teammates are up to -- one of them has a $5 gift certificate to All That Scraps to give away! :) Thank you so much for visiting today! I hope you have a great weekend planned! Have a fantastic day! :)

Cardstock: Old Olive, Real Red, Whisper White (SU!) Paper: Ski Slope (SU!) A Sadie Review and a Giveaway!

Hi, everyone! Happy Friday! I have a "Review Preview" of the new Sadie stamps from Stampin' Spot Studio, manufactured by C.C. Designs. I've already shown you Birthday Sadie, and this one is Thanksgiving Sadie! There's a Christmas Sadie, too!

Witchy Treats

Happy Friday! Today I'm doing another "review preview" of a newly released C.C. Designs set -- this time, it's Sugarplum Halloween. I used Witchy Olivia to make a treat bag. I love this project because it's EASY. Projects don't have to be complicated to be fun. The right combination of colors and images is all you need. I let the colors in the m&ms do most of the work for me! I simply made a topper with SU! Ghostly Greetings paper, scalloped the edges, stapled the sides, tied the ribbon around, and attached Olivia and the sentiment.

I colored Olivia with Copics and paper pieced her cape with more Ghostly Greetings paper. I cut her out and attached her to the topper with dimensional foam. The sentiment is also attached with dimensionals. That's it -- fun and easy! :)

It's time to go blog-hopping again! Head over to the ATS Blog to see which of my Design Teammates have a project with this set. One of them has a $5 gift certificate to All That Scraps to give away!

Have a great day, everyone -- I'm so glad you stopped by! The weekend is here -- enjoy! :)

A Review Preview!

Hello! Happy Friday to you! I have a little "Review Preview" of Spooky Spooky Spooky, one of the newly released sets by C.C. Designs. This image of Lucky just cracks me up! I colored Lucky and the bat with Copics, then I cut out the bat and mounted it on the corner. I sponged the edges of the image panel with Elegant Eggplant ink. I used my Cuttlebug and D'vine Swirls embossing folder on the background paper. The glittery chipboard stars are from a halloween Glitterz pack by Junkitz -- I picked it up at my LSS a while back.

Here's a closer look...

Head over to the ATS Blog to see which of my Design Teammates have made other projects with this set. One of them has a $5 gift certificate to All That Scraps to give away, so do a little blog hopping to find it!

Also, see THIS POST by Christine. Her daughter's teacher was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, so Christine is donating 5% of all orders placed today to the Chattanooga Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure. It's a great time to order those items on your wish list!

I had planned to make and post a sample for this week's ATS Wednesday Challenge, but time got away from me! You can see DT samples on the ATS Blog HERE, or you can see all the challenge uploads at the ATS Gallery HERE. Mini Tote and Notecards

Happy Friday, everyone! I have today's project for the ATS Blog Hop! We're doing a "Review Preview" featuring the sets Sugarplum Scenery Set and Sugarplum Sentiment Set. I made a mini tote with four 3x3 note cards. It's the same tote I made for THIS post, but in that case I used it for a gift card holder. It is an easy project which can be adapted for any purpose! Just click on a photo to get a better view.

To make the tote, start with a 6" x 8" piece of cardstock. Score it 1" from the top and bottom and 3.25" inches from either side.

Fold on the score lines and cut to make the side tabs. At this point, you can turn the cardstock over and stamp or emboss the surface. I chose to leave mine plain.

Using Sticky Strip or other strong adhesive, fold up the sides and adhere.

Decorate the tote as desired. I used American Crafts paper for the background. The sentiment and stamped rectangle are from Sugarplum Sentiment Set. The two flowers are from Sugarplum Scenery Set. I stamped them, colored them with Copics, cut them out, and added brads to the centers. For the handles, I slippped grosgrain ribbon through Jumbo Eyelets and knotted the ends. You could also attach the ribbon with brads.

I made the 3x3" notecards with C.C. Designs white cardstock. I scored two lines along the bottom of each card, then I stamped the flowers and sentiments from the Sugarplum Sentiments Set. Quick and easy!

Now that you've seen this project, head over to the ATS Blog and see which members of the Design Team have other creations to share! One of them will have a $5 gift certificate to All That Scraps for you to win! Have fun blog hopping! :)

Tonight we're going to the Rascal Flatts/Taylor Swift concert, and tomorrow we'll be at Megan's cross country meet. I hope I can get squeeze in some stamping time, too! I'll be back for sure Sunday with another Sunday Supper recipe! Hope to see you then -- have a great day! :)

ATS Blog Hop!

Happy Friday, everyone! Wanna win a $5 gift certificate to All That Scraps? A few of us on the DT are having a little fun with the set Olivia's Birdies. Discover which one of us is giving away the gc on her blog -- you have to do a little blog hopping to find out! :)

For my card, I created the card base with Always Artichoke cardstock, cutting away all but 1.5" of the front panel. I scalloped the edge of the front flap with a corner rounder (paper guide removed). I then ran that flap through the Cuttlebug with the Forest Branches embossing folder. I created the scene on white cardstock, then attached it behind the front flap. The birdhouse and birds were stamped, colored, cut out, and mounted on dimensionals. I stamped an additional roof onto brown paper from my BasicGrey Sugared pack. I cut it out and mounted it on the birdhouse with more dimensionals. I used some natural hemp twine to "tie" the birdhouse to the branch. I stamped grass from the Sugarplums Scenery Set along the bottom. I sponged the front panel with Soft Sky ink. All coloring was done with Copics. I added Dew Drops along the top to finish the card.

ETA: I realized after I posted this card that I forgot to back the white cardstock with another layer, since the Copics bled through. I cut a 5.5" x 4.25" piece of Soft Sky cardstock and adhered it behind the front panel. It doesn't show from the front, and the inside is much cleaner!!

After I was finished with the card, I realized it looks like a mother bird sending her little one off to school for the day! I obviously have back-to-school on the brain! :)

Now, check out the blogs of my ATS teammates to see who is giving away the gift certificate! You will surely be inspired along the way!

Thanks so much for the visit today -- I always appreciate it!! I hope you have a fantastic day! :)
