You Rock!

Hello! Welcome to Day 2 of MFT Teasers! Today the MFT Team is showing you the newest sets from Laina Lamb Design. My project features the set Document It - Rock On, along with the coordinating Die-namics Accent It - Rock and Roll. I was inspired to create a 6x6 scrapbook page, using a Halloween photo from 2010 (we don't look like this all the time, I promise). I found this Crate Paper School Spirit Collection 6x6 paper in my stash, and I combined it with MFT cardstock and felt.

Here are some detail closeups:

CHA Memories

Happy Monday, everyone! Yesterday I did something I NEVER do... I created a scrapbook page! I took some photos from CHA and made an 8.5" x 11" layout. I am so fortunate that I've been able to hang out with my MFT friends during the last two summer CHA shows -- and these photos capture only a tiny bit of all the smiles and laughs we shared.

I used the MFT colors -- pink, black, and white. I incorporated a few Die-namics, as well as some bling, brads and twine.

I used the Banner Day Alphabet with the Die-namics Banner Day Die.

I combined a sentiment from Girls Night Out with the Die-namics Say What? stamp and die. I also placed a trio of Die-namics Pretty Posies (was available in the April VIP package) in the corner of the page.

Although this is technically a scrapbook page, it just might be suitable for framing. ;)

That's all for today! Thanks so much for visiting!

Have a great day!

MFTeaser: The Poppies!

Hello, everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! I had a wonderful time at the Copic Certification Class! I learned a lot and met some great ladies! Smithville, Ohio is a beautiful place, and it was wonderful to meet Tammy Hershberger! :)

Anyway, I'm back and ready to get to work! Here's an MFTeaser of the new MFT Presents set by Stephanie Fizer. Meet... The Poppies! They remind me of Josie and the Pussycats -- remember them?? :) I love this set so much that it inspired me to make -- hold on to your hats -- a SCRAPBOOK page!! Right away I thought of my girls playing Rockband, and this photo was just perfect to use with the set.

The paper is Wild Raspberry by K & Company. I machine stitched around the panels. I thought it would be fun to color only one of the images and to stamp the other two directly onto the dp. I think it turned out pretty cute, considering I NEVER scrapbook! ;) I can't wait to use this set some more!

My Favorite Things is releasing three new sets on Wednesday, June 3, and the party will be on the MFT Member Company Forum from 8-10 pm Eastern. The MFT Sweet Sixteen will be announced, including two new designers, the One Click Challenge winner will be announced, plus there will be lots of chatting and fun! We hope you can join us!

Before I go, I want to share a photo from yesterday's Copic Certification. It's a photo of Tammy, Ann and me (I'm the short one in the middle!). Thanks for a great weekend, Tammy! And thanks to Sally Lynn MacDonald, our instructor -- she was fabulous! :)

Don't forget: the All That Scraps release party is tonight from 8-10 pm Eastern!

I'll be back tomorrow with another MFTeaser for you! Thanks so much for visiting today!

Have a fantastic day!

November Previews!

Hi there! Are you ready to see some new stamps?!? On Monday, November 10, there will be several new sets released by C.C. Designs, Stampin' Spot Studio, and Cookie Crumbs! Today is the first of six days of previews -- you're gonna love 'em! :)

Today I'm previewing Soccer Brandon and Soccer Sadie by Stampin' Spot Studio. For my first project -- hold on to your hats -- I did a scrapbook page! This is an 8"x8" page of Kyle playing soccer. The stamps from Soccer Brandon were just perfect for it! I used the numbers from the set to put Kyle's number on the jersey, and I stamped the word "goal" in the flag. I colored the image with Copics and sponged around the edge with SU! Old Olive ink. The paper and star die cuts are from the Recess 12x12 Collection Pack by BasicGrey. I covered the chipboard arrow with ink and added a trio of SU! Not Quite Navy brads.

I used Soccer Sadie to make a thank-you card for Anna's soccer coach. Her team wore red jerseys -- can you tell? ;) I used "Thanks" from Sugarplum Sentiment Set by C.C. Designs. I colored with Copics and added highlights with an Inkssentials Pigment Pen. The paper is Ski Slope, and the ribbon is Real Red striped grosgrain, both by SU!.

Be sure to stop by the ATS Blog all week long for more DT samples and chances to win the new sets! I'll have more to show you tomorrow, so I hope you'll be back! Thanks so much for visiting today -- have a fantastic day! :)

Scrapbooking Without the Scrapbook

I am not a good scrapbooker. There, I said it. I have a Christmas album I started about three years ago. It's still not finished. It's not even halfway finished. There's something about figuring out fresh, creative layouts that's daunting to me. I realize that's what I do when I create my cards, but the canvas is a lot smaller, and I don't have to figure in the placement of the photos. I'm also not a big fan of all the journaling! So, when I saw Stampin' Up!'s new On Board Clipboards, I knew I had to try them. They're such a great way to display your photos -- the clipboards can be altered in many ways, and the photos can be changed out whenever you want!

Here is a clipboard I made to keep in my Stamping Room. You can click on the photo for a better look. It's basically a CASE of the one on page 5 of the July 2007 Stampin' Success (a publication for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators). I wanted to use my Stampin' Up! products, so I figured why reinvent the wheel (remember, I don't like creating new scrapbook layouts...). I changed things a little, but the design is essentially the same. I used the 13 x 7 1/2" triple clipboard. I started by painting the clipboard with Accent acrylic paint in Antique White (a light yellow-y beige). I added a strip of Cutie Pie Designer Series Paper, cardstock (Certainly Celery, Purely Pomegranate, and So Saffron), and ribbon. I covered some pieces of On Board Accents chipboard with more Cutie Pie paper and made the tag using the regular and small Tag Punches. I added some sentiments and images from Office Accoutrement, Warm Words, and Polka Dots & Paisley. For the final touches, I sponged around the small oval, pierced the tag, and added Soft Subtles brads. The chipboard pieces were attached to the clipboard with dimensionals so as not to interfere with the photos. I added my most recent favorite photos of the kids, and I was finished!

That's it -- easy peasy! I can change the photos seasonally or as the kids get older. I can see this being a great gift for a college graduate or a new mom. You can match the colors and papers to your room decor, or coordinate with the seasons -- there are so many possibilities!!! I encourage you to try scrapbooking without the scrapbook -- I know I'm lovin' it!!! :)
