May MFTeasers, Day Two

Happy Saturday, everyone! It's Day Two of the May MFTeasers, and we're previewing three more sets: Jolinne - Perfect Harmony, Clearly Sentimental about Success, and the Die-namics Notched Tag dies and stamp set. I combined the Clearly Sentimental and Notched Tag sets on this card.

I {heart} the Notched Tag dies and set -- the little shapes and sentiments can be used in so many ways! The paper is from the Life of the Party 6x6 pad by BasicGrey. I kept the star theme on this card and used the Die-namics Star Border as well.

May MFTeasers Begin Today!

Hello there! TGIF! Today is the first day of Teasers for the My Favorite Things May release! This month's stamp sets and Die-namics are fabulous! Today the Creative Team is previewing these sets: Flapper Doodles - SS Flapper, Fred Bear Plays Indian, and Well Worn Greetings. Well Worn Greetings is a Die-namics Duo (stamp set and dies), and it has so many possibilities!

This card is a sample for this month's Guest Designer Contest -- the theme is Blue Jeans and Bling. So fun! You can get all the contest details HERE on the MFT Forum. The paper is from the Life of the Party 6x6 pad by BasicGrey. I distressed the edges of the paper and cardstock. I stamped the denim pattern behind the sentiment -- it looks so real, doesn't it? :) I cut scallops from a blue jean scrap using the Die-namics Simply Scallops Medium die, and I added lots of bling behind the sentiment and on the cork heart.

Here are the details about the upcoming release on May 3 at 10 PM EST:

Mojo Monday Sketch

Happy Tuesday! I played along with this week's Mojo Monday Sketch to create this card. I went out of my usual box and chose the round version of the sketch, and I really like the way it turned out.

The sentiment is from the Birdhouses set by JustRite Stampers. I used Bo Bunny's Porcelain Dot and Organic Honeysuckle papers. The edges of the card and sentiment were inked with Tea Dye Distress Ink. I embellished with bling flowers, seam binding ribbon, and May Arts Natural Burlap String.

I'm headed off to school for my second day of subbing this week. I'll be back tomorrow with another card -- I hope to see you then! Thanks for visiting today!

Have a great day!

I'd love to see YOU there! :)

You can get all the details at the Stamping Around site -- spots are filling quickly!

You Are Loved

Happy Friday, everyone! The kids are home today for Easter break, and it's raining AGAIN. Yuck. Even though it's wet and gray outside, this card is sunny and summery. :)

I haven't participated in a SCS Sketch Challenge for SO long, and this week's Sketch 329 was perfect for the A Warm Hello  round set by JustRite Stampers. I cut and embossed the circles and inked the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The patterned paper is from the Hello Luscious 6x6 pad by BasicGrey. I embossed the bottom panel with the Cuttlebug Victoria folder. I embellished with seam binding ribbon, a rhinestone flourish, and a Prima Peridot Love Letter Rose.

That's it for today! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Have a great day!

à la modes - Grad Girl

Happy Tuesday! Today I'm back with a preview of the second à la modes set being released tonight, Grad Girl. My son graduates next month, and I know I'll be using this set to make cards for many of his friends. I really love the way this card turned out -- the mix of papers from October Afternoon's Schoolhouse collection is grown-up and playful at the same time (kinda like a high school senior).  :)

I colored the image with Copics, and I sponged the edges of the papers with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  I used two Die-namics: Pretty Posies and Notebook Edge. I embellished with a button, Honeydew Twine, and a pearl flourish.

Head over to Kim's Blog to see which designers have inked up this sweet Grad Girl! Then be sure to stop back tonight at 10:00 pm EST for the May VIP Hop! :)

I distressed the edges of the papers, and I colored the image with Copic markers. I used two Die-namics: Stacking Stars and Simply Scallops Medium

I placed another star inside with the sentiment.

Thoughts of Easter

Hi there! I'm so glad you stopped by. Today I have a Stamper's Dream card to share with you. The weather here is finally getting warmer, so my thoughts have turned to spring and Easter. I inked up this Egg Topiary stamp and paired it with My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup Girl paper.

I cut and embossed the panel with one of the Labels Eighteen Nestabilities, then I sponged the edges. I wanted to keep the image soft and springy, so I watercolored it with an aquapainter and various inks. I added some Stardust Stickles here and there for a little sparkle. I embellished with some plaid ribbon, Pink Burlap String, and a pearl flourish.

We've been enjoying our spring break "staycation" so far -- we've already checked bowling and a trip to the park off our list. We're hoping to go somewhere with the girls this afternoon -- maybe the zoo!  :)

I hope you enjoy your day, whatever your plans may be! Thanks for spending some time here with me today!

Have a great day!

Getting Sketchy, Week 15

Hi there! Happy Wednesday! It's time for another MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and another fabulous sketch! It's a simple sketch, perfect for larger images. You can find all the details HERE. For my card I inked up Tea with Flopsey, and I used a couple Die-namics: Flat-Bottom Clouds and Fresh Cut Grass.

The panel behind the image was embossed with the Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls folder. I did some zig zag stitching around the Swing into Spring: Little Buds paper.  The image was colored with Copics, and I sponged the edges of the panel with SU! Soft Sky ink.

I kept the inside of the card very simple, with some stamping and more felt grass.

Be sure to click over to Kim's Blog to see the lineup of designers who have made samples with this fun sketch! Play along with us, and upload to SCS with keyword MFTWSC15 for a chance to win a gift voucher to the MFT Boutique! :)

MFT DT Creative Challenge: For the Kids

Happy Tuesday, everyone! It's time once again for the MFT DT Creative Challenge. Joanne has challenged us to make a gift item for kids. I created a Kids Garden Kit, perfect for budding gardeners (pardon the pun -- I couldn't help it!).  It contains three mini grow kits, plant labels, and a marker.

I used Jillibean Soup Blossom Soup paper and Sour Apple cardstock to make the band for the pail. I embellished with some bling, Honeydew Twine, and felt Posies.

I used Pure Innocence: Mud Buddies for the lid and the sentiments. I colored with Copics and paper pieced the boots. I added some dots for seeds. :)

Stop by Kim's Blog to see the which designers have created projects For the Kids! We'd love to see your kids' gifts, too! :)

Clean and Simple Sunday

Good Sunday morning to you! As usual, it's been a whirlwind of activity here at the Fischer house the last few days. My kids are on spring break this week, so Kyle left yesterday for his senior trip to Siesta Key (I'm pretty sure I won't exhale until next Saturday when he returns). I'm chairing a fundraiser today to help build a new Soup Kitchen for the hungry in our area, so that took up a bit of time, too. So... my post planned for Friday was bumped to today. Why is it that I always feel two steps behind lately?

I wanted to keep things simple on this card -- maybe it will help me keep things simple in my life? Anyway, I started with a clean card base, rounded the corners, then I scored and embossed on the bottom. I inked up this Impression Obsession Dotty Heart with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Inks. The sentiment is from the Quiet Moments cling set by Just Rite Stampers. I finished with some Natural Burlap String tied in a twine-y bow and topped with a Webster's Pages Sparkler.

I'm off to enjoy this Sunday. The weather is going to be gorgeous, so cross your fingers for a successful fundraiser! I'll be back tomorrow for the Stamper's Dream & Friends Hop! See you then!

Have a great day!

This release is FABULOUS, don't you think? I know I say that all the time, but it's TRUE! Tonight I'm thrilled to be sharing my favorite set from this release, Who's That Girl - Fiesta!. It's a perfect set for Cinco de Mayo, thank you cards (gracias), a fiesta night, or margaritas with the girls! There are so many fun sentiments and accessories too!

On the front of the card, I used the new Die-namics Open Scallop Doily, as well as the Die-namics Rolled Rose. I paper pieced with this gorgeous BasicGrey Hello Luscious paper.

I finished the inside of the card with some of the fun images and another sentiment from the set.

Now I'll send you on your way to visit the amazingly talented Inge Groot! I'll see you there! :)

Thanks so much for hopping by!

Happy Monday, everyone! Today the MFT Creative Team is previewing two sets: Inspired by Spring and Claire Keay - Hello, Sunshine. I inked up this sweet Hello Sunshine set and paired it with some springy K&Company Wild Raspberry papers. I love the sketchy lines in Claire Keay's images -- they make paper piecing a little less stressful! ;)

See the new Die-namics Open Scallop Doily behind the image? Love it! I did a combination of straight and zig zag machine stitching, and I embellished with some twine.
