What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! I'm the hostess for today's What's Up Wednesday Challenge on the MFT Forum at Splitcoaststampers. The challenge is to use your MFT stamps to make your own designer paper!

To create mine, I grouped the mugs from Hot Stuff together on an acrylic block, then I stamped them repeatedly on a "solid" piece of Bittersweet paper in Chocolate chip craft ink. I heat embossed with clear embossing powder to create a textured design on my background paper.

I finished the card by paper piecing the dress on the focal image and coloring the rest with Copics. I sponged around the image panel and sentiment with SU! Pink Pirouette ink. The ribbon is from May Arts.

Before I go, I want to share the card I made for yesterday's SCS Color Challenge. I had a busy day yesterday and didn't get a chance to post it! I love the beautiful summery color combination. I needed to make a sympathy card, so I used the set Comfort & Peace by Gina K. Designs.

The background was embossed with my Cuttlebug and Floral Screen folder. I used the Top Note Die on the cardstock and Bella Rose dp. I inked the image with SU! markers, and I sponged around the image and sentiment. The beautiful May Arts ribbon perfectly matched the challenge colors!

Guess what?? Tomorrow begins previews of the All That Scraps March stamps! They are so cute and springy -- I hope you'll stop back to see 'em! Thanks so much for visiting with me today!

Have a great day!

Luv U!

Hello! Happy Thursday to you! I'm moving in slow motion today -- I am not winning the battle against this cold! UGH! I had to get off the couch and DO something, so I made this card. The layout is from this week's MFT Sketch Challenge. I also did this week's MFT What's Up Wednesday Challenge to use acetate.

I embossed the acetate with my Cuttlebug and Heart Blocks folder, then I machine stitched it to the dp. I stamped Flopsey on shimmery white paper and colored with Copics. I paper pieced the heart with the dp.

FYI: For my acetate, I use Write-on Transparency Sheets from Staples. I got a box of 100 for $20-something.

That's all for today! Thanks so much for the visit! I'm so glad you stopped by! :)

Have a fantastic day!

Challenge Fun!

Happy Thursday, everyone! Today I have a couple challenge cards to share with you. Both were made with stamps from My Favorite Things. The first is for today's MFT Sketch Challenge. I used What's Up Cupcake and BasicGrey Cupcake paper. I colored gemstones with a Copic marker to make the cherries on the cupcakes. The flowers are by Prima.

The second card is for two challenges: yesterday's SCS Sketch Challenge and the MFT What's Up Wednesday Challenge to use three ribbons on your project. The images are from Bunny Slippers, and the paper is Ambrosia by BasicGrey. I paper pieced the soup bowl with the paper.

I definitely had fun pairing my MFT stamps with BasicGrey paper! *LOL* I hope you like my samples, and I hope you have a chance to play in the challenges, too! That's all for today -- thank you so much for stopping by! :)

Have a fabulous day!

Quickie Cupcakes!

Hello, and Happy Thursday! Today's card is one I made for yesterday's Sketch Challenge at SCS, as well as the MFT What's Up Wednesday challenge to do paper piecing. Joanne shared a great tutorial on using a Quickie Glue Pen for paper piecing -- she also used it for heat embossing! I use my Quickie all the time for my paper piecing, but I NEVER thought to use it when I heat emboss. I did it here, though -- I drew with the glue pen along the frosting lines, applied Iridescent Ice embossing powder to the glue, and zapped it with my heat tool! It's difficult to see in the photo, but it's there (click on it if you want a better view)!! It opens up a lot of possibilities, especially when I want to emboss on a small area! Thanks, Joanne! :)

The rest of the card is pretty straightforward -- I colored the frosting with Copics, paper pieced the paper liners, and did some Cuttlebug embossing. I used some Glitter Dots for the cherries. This Summer Picnic paper is just so much fun -- it totally made the card! :)

That's all for today! Thanks so much for visiting -- I really appreciate it! Have a wonderful day! :)

One Card, Two MFT Challenges!

Happy Thursday to you! One more day 'til Halloween -- and I still have much to do! I took a break from making my Halloween treats so I could play in a couple of MFT Challenges over at SCS. This card is for the MFT Sketch Challenge #54 and the What's Up Wednesday Challenge #3. The What's Up Wednesday Challenge is to use embossing and to use one of the Annie LaPoint stamps if possible. well, I LOVE the Annie LaPoint images, so I was happy to play along! My embossing is dry embossing using my Cuttlebug and Birds and Swirls folder.

Here's a closeup of the coloring. I stamped in SU! Basic Brown and colored with Copics. I added a very subtle shadow around the image with Warm Gray No. 1. It gives the image just a little more dimension. I sponged around the edge of the image panel with More Mustard ink.

Here are the Copic Ciao markers I used ...

That's it for me today! I have to finish Caroline's class treats -- I'll share them with you tomorrow! Thanks so much for stopping by -- have a great day! :)
