MFTWSC117

Hello there! I hope you had a very happy, blessed Easter. We had a wonderful day with family. The girls and I are on spring break this week, so I'm counting on lots of crafty time! Here's my card for the latest MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch. You can find all the details HERE on the MFT Forum at Splitcoaststampers.

I kept things pretty clean and simple on this card. I sponged around the circle and sentiment with Kraft Premium Dye Ink, then I added some distressing, piercing, and a tiny bit of zig zag stitching. These Fly a Kite 6x6 papers (My Mind's Eye) are so much fun -- I find myself using them a lot lately!

Here are the links to the MFT products I used on this card:

That's all for now! Thank you for stopping by to visit today!

Have a great day!

Martinis on Me

Happy Thursday! I'm back with a card for this week's MFT WSC Sketch. You can get all the details HERE. It's a simple sketch, but I just couldn't keep it simple! :)

I used papers from A Happy Heart 6x6 pad by My Mind's Eye. The cardstock is Pink Lemonade and Black Licorice. I stamped the image from a la modes Martinis on Me on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics. I created the roses with Die-namics Rolled Rose and Mini Rolled Roses cut from felt. The sentiment is stamped on one of the Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome.

To finish the card, I added a rhinestone flourish and some Hemp Cord. I also added a little sugar rim to my pomtini (my fave!) using Diamond Stickles.

That's it for today! I don't know about you, but it's been a long and crazy week so far. I needed some stamping to keep me sane! :)

Thanks for stopping by -- have a great day!

You Are My Anchor

Hello there, friends! I hope you are well! I definitely hit the ground running when school started, and I haven't had much time to breathe since -- but I'm slowly carving out more "me" time. :)

I was itching to play with my MFT stamps, and I found the perfect reason -- to make a card for the MFT Guest Designer Contest. I certainly would love to work with my old friends again, even if just for a month! I miss them all so much! You can get all the details about the contest HERE.

My daughter Megan is a freshman at the University of Kentucky this year, and she has fully embraced college life. She pledged a sorority, and her initiation is next week. I made her a card with her sorority's mascot, an anchor. This sweet a la modes You Anchor Me set could not have been more perfect! The sorority's colors are blue and pink, so My Mind's Eye 6x6 Dwell papers were just what I needed.

I used three Die-namics as well: Rounded Banner STAX, Jumbo Banner Day STAX, and Double Scallop Border. I colored and paper pieced the image, then I cut her out and popped her up on the embossed panel. I distressed the edges of the paper and cardstock and did some machine stitching. The scalloped border was cut from a cork sheet. The letters on the banners were stamped with the Banner Day Alphabet.

I'm excited to see the new stamps and Die-namics from MFT when they're released October 16! Maybe I'll see YOU at the Release Party! :)

Thanks so much for checking in today -- have a great day!

Snuggle Time - MFTWSC52

Hi there, friends! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!

Has it really been almost three months since I've posted a card here??? I decided it was finally time to get inky again. :)  I took advantage of my time off work to get sketchy with MFT's last Wednesday Sketch of 2011! You can get all the details HERE. We've been having plenty of snuggle time and hot cocoa this week, so this a la modes Hot Cocoa Cutie was the perfect choice for my card!

I paired her with some My Mind's Eye 12 Days of Christmas papers. I also used a few Die-namics, too! Oh, how I've missed them! :) Coloring was done with Copics and Prismacolor pencils, and I paper pieced the mug. I used Liquid Applique on the marshmallows and I did some machine stitching, too.

I think this bit of stamping has jump-started my mojo. I mean, a working girl has to have a creative outlet, right? I promise to be back soon -- thanks so much for stopping by!

MFT DT Creative Challenge: No Coloring!

Hi there! I'm so glad you stopped by today! I'm here with this month's DT Creative Challenge, and it's another fun one! We hope you'll play along with us!

In 2011, MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a new monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, we're all putting down the markers, pencils and paints and sharing projects with No Coloring! Visit Kim's Blog for a full list of designers that have taken up the challenge!

I chose this sweet new a la modes Blue Without You set and paired it with some My Mind's Eye Blink of an Eye 6x6 papers. papers. I know the challenge is no coloring, but the star is paper pieced, not colored, so technically I didn't break the rules, right? Plus, that big ol' star was just begging for something, you know? :) The sentiment is stamped on the new Die-namics Dog Tag.

Inside, I stamped the image and another sentiment, then I placed a Die-namics Star Border along the bottom. Clean, simple, and no coloring!

Don't forget to stop by Kim's Blog to see the list of designers who have accepted the No Coloring challenge! Thanks again for the visit today! I really appreciate it! :)

Have a great day!

Talk Nerdy to Me

Happy Sunday! Today's MFTeasers are of the new à la modes sets, and they are SO cute! My card features Talk Nerdy to Me. I teach sixth grade math, and those #2 pencils are everywhere in my room -- so of course this image just makes me smile. :) I paired it with A Happy Heart 6x6 papers by My Mind's Eye, and I used the NEW Die-namics Ticket Tab.

The layout is this week's sketch for the Wednesday Stamp Club. You can see the sketch and all the details HERE.

I finished the inside with the image stamped again and another sentiment from the set.

Getting Sketchy, Week 34

Hello there! It's time for another great sketch for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club! You can get all the details for this week's sketch right HERE.

On Monday, I started my new job. I went back to teaching after 19 years at home. To say I'm a little overwhelmed would be an understatement. ;) I love teaching, and I'm happy to be doing it again, but it's definitely been an adjustment for me and for my family. I was glad to finally carve out a little bit of stamping time to make this card -- and of course I had to use a la modes - You Rule.  And of course I had to use October Afternoon Schoolhouse papers. :)

Stop by Kim's Blog now to see the list of designers who have samples with this fun sketch.

My blogging will continue to be a bit sporadic until I get used to my new routine, so I hope you'll still stick around! I really appreciate you stopping by today!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

2 Cute

Happy Monday, everyone! We had a busy weekend -- graduation party, anniversary party, and back-to-school preparations -- so there wasn't much extra time for stamping. I do have this card to share with you, though. It's the sample I made for Leigh O'Brien's Dare to Get Dirty challenge. If you're a Fan Club member, you still have until midnight tonight to play along with the challenges! :)

This sweet new a la modes set, Bundle of Baby, was just what I needed to make a baby boy card for a neighbor. I used several Die-namics on the front, including the First Place Award Ribbon for the sentiment flag. I love that the ribbon dies are perfect for sentiments! :) I colored with Copic markers, and I added a little bling to the rattle and the tag.

I finished the inside with the image stamped again, plus more paper and bling.

Tomorrow is our monthly MFT DT Creative Challenge. I hope you'll stop by to see what we've been up to! Thanks so much for visiting today!

Have a great day!

à la modes - You Are Unrepeatable

Hi there! Happy Tuesday! I'm back with a Teaser of the second à la modes set being released tonight at My Favorite Things. This set, You Are Unrepeatable, is so perfect for those young music lovers in your life!

I'm still having fun with the Lime Twist papers, and these patterns from the Happy Go Lucky pad were perfect with this image and Die-namics Say What? die.

Inside I created a pocket for a gift card, then I added some Die-namics Musical Notes and another sentiment from the set.

To see more samples with this set, head over to Kim's Blog now. Then be sure to join us tonight at 10:00 for the VIP Blog Hop! :)

That's all for now -- see you all later tonight!

à la modes - I've Met My Match

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you had a great weekend and a wonderful Father's Day. I had a fantastic time at Stamping Around Ohio! I want to give a big shout-out to all the ladies who were so much fun and so enthusiastic! I'll have photos later on this week, but today I'm here to share the newest à la modes set from My Favorite Things! :)

Here's a card featuring I've Met My Match. I *love* this set (no pun intended)! I've been playing tennis since high school, and I've been in a Thursday morning league for about three years. It's one of the things I will really miss when I return to teaching in the fall. So, this card is for all my Thursday morning ladies! :)

The paper is from the Lime Twist - Life of the Party pad by My Mind's Eye. I created a felt border with the Die-namics Little Open Scallop Strip, and I embellished with Honeydew Twine and a button.

I finished the inside the inside of the card with more paper and another sentiment from the set.

Stop by Kim's Blog to see the list of designers who have previews of this set today. I'll be back tomorrow with the second à la modes set, and then we'll have the VIP Hop tomorrow night!

Thanks so much for visiting today -- have a great day!

à la modes - I Treasure Our Friendship

Happy Tuesday! Today's card features the new à la modes set, I Treasure Our Friendship. I love this sassy little pirate! :)

In the past, we've released our à la modes images in cling rubber; however, this month, we're releasing both of our à la modes in clear photopolymer, just like the rest of our stamps.  This means that we can bring them to you a slightly lower price point than usual - $9.00 each!  How fabulous is that?!  Since our clear stamps are made in the USA, they are of the highest quality, so you'll have the same great image quality that you're accustomed to with any of our other clear stamps!

Ahoy Matey!

I combined the image with October Afternoon Seaside papers, Die-namics Dizzy Doily, and Die-namics Fishtail Banner. I colored with Copics.

Visit Kim to see the lineup of designers who have previews of this set. Then be sure to stop back tonight at 10:00 Eastern for the June VIP Hop! :)

I'll see you later tonight! Thanks for visiting!

Have a great day!

à la modes - I Need Some Face Time

Happy Monday, everyone! It's time for the MFT mid-month release, and that means new à la modes! Both new à la modes plus the June VIP package will be released tomorrow night at My Favorite Things!

Today the Creative Team is previewing the set, I Need Some Face Time. We all need a little face time with family or friends, even if we do it via our phones and computers! :)

I used some My Mind's Eye Lime Twist papers and the Die-namics Double Scallop Border.  I colored with Copics and distressed the edges of the cardstock and paper. I stamped each word of the sentiment separately so I could arrange them in a circle. That's one of the benefits of using clear stamps! :)

I stamped the image again in watermark style on the inside, then I added another sentiment.

Stop by Kim's Blog to see the list of designers who are previewing this set today. Then be sure to come back here tomorrow for a look at the other à la modes set being released tomorrow night!

That's all for today! Thank you so much for visiting!

Have a great day!

à la modes - Grad Girl

Happy Tuesday! Today I'm back with a preview of the second à la modes set being released tonight, Grad Girl. My son graduates next month, and I know I'll be using this set to make cards for many of his friends. I really love the way this card turned out -- the mix of papers from October Afternoon's Schoolhouse collection is grown-up and playful at the same time (kinda like a high school senior).  :)

I colored the image with Copics, and I sponged the edges of the papers with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  I used two Die-namics: Pretty Posies and Notebook Edge. I embellished with a button, Honeydew Twine, and a pearl flourish.

Head over to Kim's Blog to see which designers have inked up this sweet Grad Girl! Then be sure to stop back tonight at 10:00 pm EST for the May VIP Hop! :)

That's all for now! See you later!

Have a great day!

Happy Monday, everyone! I'm glad you stopped by today, because the MFT DT is previewing the new à la modes! This is Dream Big -- such a sweet set! I paired it with some October Afternoon The Thrift Shop papers.

I distressed the edges of the papers, and I colored the image with Copic markers. I used two Die-namics: Stacking Stars and Simply Scallops Medium

I placed another star inside with the sentiment.

Click over to Kim's Blog to see the lineup of designers who are previewing this set today. I'll be back tomorrow with a preview of the other à la modes set, and then the VIP Hop will follow tomorrow night! There's a lot to see, so I hope you'll be by to check it out! :)
