Celebrate With Me! It's a Giveaway!

Today is my birthday. I'm 42. Birthdays are typically a time when I look back over the past year and its ups & downs (and most of all give thanks that I've made it through another one!). This year I have much to celebrate. I am fortunate to be healthy and to have healthy family and friends. I have a wonderful husband and four beautiful children. I'm a papercrafter. I am able to do something every day that I LOVE and that hopefully brings joy to others as well. I can't believe how much has happened in just this last year. I started this blog in July, and it is something that has brought new abilities, new friends, and new opportunities. I recently passed 25,000 hits -- that just blows my mind. Thanks to all of you for taking the time to visit me every day!! This year, I was chosen to be on my first Design Team, and I can't thank Christine and Amy at All That Scraps enough for having faith in me. I was asked to be Jen del Muro's Guest Designer for December -- what a thrill! Also, this month, I was published for the first time!! Several of my cards are featured in the Winter 2008 issue of Take Ten magazine, on pages 52-53, as part of their "Variations on a Theme." Check it out if you get a chance!!

Like I said, it's been a great year! *smile* Sometimes I feel like I need to pinch myself to be sure it's really happening! With all these things to celebrate, I thought I'd give a birthday gift to YOU!!! I'm having my first Celebration Giveaway! I'm giving away some Studio G Clear Stamps and a Clear Block, 12 SU! Long Notes with envelopes, Candy Cane Stickles, some Got Flowers? by Prima in blue and pink, and lots of fun ribbon! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post. Tell me about your favorite birthday, how you like to celebrate birthdays, or just say hi! On Friday morning, December 21, I'll select a random number to be the winner!

Thanks so much for celebrating with me -- have a fantastic day!! :)

Happy Birthday to you! And congrats on a great year! I know the next one will be better! I was a lucky duck this year and got spoiled with a new stand mixer for my birthday 3 weeks ago. Hope you get spoiled too (with love!).

Happy Birthday!!
I'm on your site almost everyday. I really like your style.
I would say the birthday I remember most is my 8th birthday I got a bike. It was bigger than me. It had a light on the front, baskets on the back. I thought it was something. I will be 50 next year and I still have that bike. I don't ride it but I still have it.

Happy birthday, Jules! Here's wishing you another banner year!

All my birthdays are my favorites - I pretty much tell folkes who grouse about getting another year older to consider the alternative!

Happy Birthday Christina! I really enjoy your blog and thanks for the opportunity to win! I turned 48 3 weeks ago and my husband, daughter and son got tickets for all of us to go see Bruce Springstein in Boston! Our DD is 25 and DS is 22. I LOVE that they want to spend time with us doing stuff like this! Definitely an advantage of having kids when you are younger! After all, how many 20 somethings like the same music as their parents??!!

don't count this as an entry... :)
i saw your stuff in TT and was THRILLED to see your name in there!! I can't believe that was your first time in a magazine! I am sure that there are many more to publications to come. BTW...I would have never guessed 42, maybe 32, but not 42. Happy Birthday!!!!!

I hope you have a wonderful birthday, and congratulations on being published! What a fantastic accomplishment.

I'd have to say that my favorite birthday was about 4 years ago when my niece was born on my birthday. My sister now calls us "birthday buddies" and we'll be celebrating on the 31st.

I love to just lay low on my birthday - life has so much going on, I just look forward to the slow times, when there is little that HAS to be done...my best one though, was when I had my daughter a few days before...she's was and still is a treat!

the only birthday I did anything for was my 18th-I moved out into my own apartment. no more looney bin for me. My birthday was the 14 of December and I bought my own lunch (eyes rolling) and stopped at Hobby Lobby for some glass jars. then delivered my daughter HER birthday present ( a camcorder). and she gave me----------her cold.

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
My favorite birthday was when I turned 40...my children got together with a friend of mine...and met me at my job with 2 dozen balloons with all kinds of messages...like over the hill...old lady...happy 40th...surprise on and on...then on the drive home...they had posted BIG signs (for all the world to see) (including at one of the exit tolls) my mom ELLIE just turned 40....or ELLIE is officially over the hill...HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM...and the signs went from my job all the way to my home....just follow the signs...they were awesome...and then a MASSIVE banner wishing me a happy birthday that they spent weeks making and decorating...tacked to the front of our house...then they saved money and took me out to dinner at my favorite restaurant and got me a beautiful cake...IT WAS WONDERFUL...it took them a couple of months of planning and saving and touched my heart and soul...IT WAS THE BEST!!!
Have a glorious birthday!!
Peace--Ellie

Happy Birthday!!! I have a copy of Take Ten saw your cards and love them they are gorgeous. Congratulations on being published and have a blessed birthday. The best birthday I can remember is leaving my home late for work on my fortieth birthday finding a little old lady birthday sign in my yard with the words Lordy Lordy Karen's Forty for all the world to see. Place there by my loving little sister for my birthday.

Congrats on your successful blog and happy birthday!! Since having kids there always seemed to be something on my birthday - a scout meeting, school function, you name it. One of my favorite memories is coming home late after a scout meeting. We stopped and got some burgers for a late dinner. I was busy getting laundry going before going up to eat and my kids came down to the basement with a candle in my cheeseburger singing happy birthday to me! It was a very sweet moment. I hope you enjoy a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy 42nd Birthday dear Christina, Happy Birthday to you!

My most memorable birthday was for my step dad. We had ordered an ice cream cake and when it was delivered, we stuck it in the freezer without looking at it first. When we opened it for dessert, it said "Get Well Marla" !! We got a huge laugh out of it and now every year, someone in the family gets a "Get Well Marla" cake!!
Congratulations on your beautiful site!! - Bonnie

Hope you had a great Birthday! Congrats on being in take ten - always love that one when it comes out!

I don't have 'big' birthday doos - my kids like a cake but I hate being the center of attention so it's usually just us. (My husband is not spontaneous and can never keep a secret so usually we just stay home)

First of all, happy birthday! My most memorable birthdays, most recently, have been the last 3 of my birthdays. My 2nd son was born one day after my birthday, 3 years ago. It was an emergency c-section and I ws 3 1/2 weeks early, but all came out fine in the end; but I will never forget sucha beautiful time in my life and how fortunate I am for my 2 beautiful boys! Hope you enjoyed your birthday!

Happy Birthday--one day late! My favorite birthday was my 40th--I was moving from cold NY to sunny Arizona, was leaving a failed marriage and got to play pin the tail on the donkey and celebrate mutual birthdays with my 78-year-old stepmom! It was wonderful!

Congratulations on your successes!

Happy Birthday! I love to give away gifts on my birthday every year too! ;o) I loved my 21st birthday best. My fiancee had remodeled a whole apartment for us and had gone to my Grandmother's house and picked up everything I owned. He got the whole family in on the act and they put together the whole place. I showed up to a huge party and my own apartment with all the dishes in the cupboards and my bed made!
