A Sketch Challenge and New Papertrey Ink!

Hi, everyone! I hope your week is going well! I want to thank everyone so much for your kind words after my last post. I am just so excited about the direction my life is taking, and I'm so fortunate to do something every day that I LOVE! :)
Now to the card...

I received my new Papertrey Ink sets Tuesday, and I knew this Santa from the Believe set would be perfect for yesterday's Sketch Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. The card base is retired Cranberry Crisp cardstock, and I stamped the Paisley background on it with Cranberry Crisp ink. The designer paper is Recollections, also retired, and it is matted on Mellow Moss cardstock. The narrow strip is Mellow Moss, and I stamped the flourish from Season of Joy on it to go with the swirls in the paper. The panels were distressed with the Cutter Kit. For the focal image, I stamped Santa in Basic Black ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. I colored him with my Prismacolor Pencils blended with Turpenoid. I used 2-Way Glue to apply Dazzling Diamonds glitter to his beard and trim. Soft Sky ink and a Blender Pen were used to create the highlight around the image. The garland between his hands was stamped in Basic Black, colored with the Prismas, cut out, and popped up on a Dimensional. The image panel and Cranberry Crisp mat were distressed and mounted on Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped in Basic Black and punched with the Small Oval Punch. I matted it on a Large Oval punched from Cranberry Crisp. I added stitched grosgrain and a Vintage Brad, then I mounted it on Dimensionals. To finish the card, I added a photo anchor from Making Memories and some faux stitching using a paper piercer and a Baroque Burgundy marker.

I love the vintage look of this Santa and the paper, and I think they work together well! I'm happy with the result! Thanks for visiting today! :)
All products Stampin' Up! Unless otherwise noted.
