A Little Trick-or-Treater

I was in a Halloween mood today -- I think the promise of cooler temps this weekend has me thinking about fall! I have been playing around with this layout and thought it would be a good one for designer papers. I used Halloween Night papers (from last years SU! Holiday Mini Catalog) for the background and Basic Black cardstock for the image mat. For the card base and image panel I used Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select White Cardstock. Lemme tell you -- I love that stuff! It's much sturdier than SU!'s Whisper White. I love SU!'s cardstock, but the white just isn't firm enough for a card base.

Anyway, back to the card... I cut a panel of paper just slightly smaller than the card base and adhered it to the front. I cut a 3" circle out of the other pattern , adhered it to the corner, and trimmed off the excess. I then sponged around the front of the card with Old Olive ink. For the image panel, I stamped the ghost from Booglie Eyes in Basic Black. I colored him with my Prisamacolor Pencils and sponged around the edge of the panel with Old Olive. I used my Photo Corners Punch to make a photo corner out of the paper, and I put a few faux stitches on the bottom. I glued on some wiggle eyes (Westrim Crafts) and put some Earth Elements brads on the photo corner. For the final touches, I added some Martha Stewart ribbon, more Earth Elements brads, and a black bat. The bat is an image from Papertrey Ink's Spooky Sweets set. I stamped it in Versamark on Basic Black cardstock, then I heat embossed it with Black Embossing Powder. I mounted it on Stampin' Dimensionals. I didn't add a sentiment -- I let the ribbon do the talking! :)

I think this little guy is cute, but not scary. That's the way I like Halloween! Thanks for visiting -- have a great day!

Greta use of the S.U. Halloween paper. I love that you've cut it in a circle. I'm SO stoked that I still have some of that paper...Wickedly great! :0) Mel
