Altered Frames

I've had the urge to redecorate lately -- so of course I decided to make my own accessories! I purchased several unfinished frames at Michael's for $2 each, and I got to work altering them!

On this frame, I first painted the edges with Accent Acrylic Paint (Antique White). I used Brocade Backgrounds paper, adhering it to the frame and to the chipboard label frame from On Board Accents. I sanded all the edges, then sponged them with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink. I used the flourish and sentiment from Priceless. The flourish is stamped several times onto the paper with Stazon Timber Brown, and the sentiment is stamped onto River Rock Cardstock with Chocolate Chip. I added Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon and Antique Copper brads (Making Memories). For the three brads at the top, I clipped off the prongs and attached them with Glue Dots. The label frame is attached with Stampin' Dimensionals. The photo is of the kids in Myrtle Beach during Spring Break this year. I had planned to give this frame to Chris for his office, but I love it so much that I just might keep it at the house! :)

The second frame is for Megan's room. She is planning to change her colors to pink and green, and this gorgeous paper from K & Company seemed perfect. The paper is double-sided, and I used both sides of the same paper. I painted the edges with the same acrylic paint, then I adhered the paper to the frame. I sanded the edges and inked them with Close to Cocoa Classic Ink. There's no stamping on this one -- I simply adhered the Kelly Panacci Rub-On, Making Memories Jumbo Blossoms, and some rhinestones. Then I tied on some Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon. The photo is of Megan and her friends, taken at her 13th birthday party.

Let's see... what other rooms need a new frame? ;)

Thanks for taking a look -- enjoy the rest of your weekend!

All products Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.
